Code:: This is a fan-edit... Superman: Son of Jorel note THIS RELEASE WAS RE-ENCODED TO FIX THE ASPECT RATIO ISSUE OF THE 12/15/08 RELEASE. OTHERWISE THE TWO RELEASES ARE VIRTUALLY IDENTICAL IN CONTENT. Superman: Son of Jorel is a re-mix of the Superman 1 and Superman 2 movies, including some shots from the Donner Cut and Superman 3 and 4, as well as new footage filmed specifically for this project. This project edits out of many of unrealistic moments, much of the camp, and nearly all of the goofier attempts at humor that were very prevalent in the second movie. Through the use of seamless editing and subtle special FX, action scenes have a more modern pace, continuity errors were removed where possible, and some of the original sub-par FX were fixed. In total over 1 1/2 hours have been cut from these movies, leaving an epic, darker, more serious film with a total runtime of just under 3 hours. A new ending was also created that fits well with Superman Returns. This is a pre-release version of the Son of Jorel, intended to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the release of Superman: the Motion Picture. As a pre-release, some FX are not fully completed, some scenes are not color corrected, and the audio mix may have a few problems. If you are looking for a professional level movie experience, either rent the original Superman, or wait until the DVD of this project is released sometime in 2009. Okay, so I just watched this from start to finish. It was torn apart so badly. If you google forums this guy who ‘edited’ it, is on…you will read him talk about how he was trying to re-create the feelings Superman evoked for him as a child, by cutting out all the comedic relief, etc. The reality is, he chopped apart Superman SO badly, that he has given this 3 hour cut more plot holes than a block of swiss cheese. It’s the worst thing I have EVER seen done to a movie or series of movies that I love. Even worse than what George Lucas did with the prequels. So believe me, when I say STAY AWAY from this RIP. It is a disgrace. The guy even edits himself in with FX to the end of his version, as a newscaster telling Metropolis on TV that scientists have discovered the location of Krypton, and makes it seem like Clark A.K.A. of course Superman see’s this, and that’s the bridge between this pile of shit he has created, and the most recent Superman film, “Superman Returns”. Please, if you don’t want to get the wrong image in your head of what the original movies were about, DO NOT watch this movie. Take a slightly little more time and watch the originals, forgive whatever little mistakes there may be, because TRUST me, they are nothing, compared to this ridiculous pile of fucking shit garbage. This guy wastes hours of his life doing this, ripping apart movies the way he ‘thinks’ they should have been edited, instead of spending time with his family, which he even admits on forums, waiting for his fam to go here or there, so he can get back to the ripping board. What a fucking loser. Please, please. Enjoy the originals as they are. There is truly NOTHING in this release that is rewarding, and you are literally left wondering time after time, just what the fuck happened, and why wasn’t that explained, or why Lois hair has completely changed one scene to the next because he is using shots from all the films but in the wrong order, or why he uses the same fucking fruit stand guy scene 3 fucking times in front of the Daily Planet, throughout his ‘cut’. It is so stupid. I feel like I have to now sit down for a full day, and re-watch the entire box set, just so that I can redeem myself for the 3 hours of life I just wasted. It’s a fucking catch 22.
